I turned to Ben, my 6 and a 1/2 year old (the 1/2 is very important!!) and gave him a go. 2 days later I asked his thoughts on the game
So Ben what did you think of the game:
'It's cool!, it looks like a cartoon and you get to smash Deceptions up. And there's no blood'.
Who's your favourite character:
'At the moment its the red fella with the big swords'
(I've since checked and this guy is called Sideswipe)
'Well, he's got better weapons than Bumblebee. When you are fighting a guy with a shield you can focus your attack and smash the guy in one go. (Bumblebee can't do that). His weapons are like totally OP'
(apparently 'totally OP' is a Minecraft/Youtuber's phrase that means 'overpowered'. You learn something new everyday)
How about the controls, is it easy to play?
'It's OK, They give you hints on the screen how do do things'
What's been your favourite bit?
'Beating Megatron the first time, definitely!!'
What don't you like about it?
'When you don't know where to go next.'
What score would you give it out of 10?
'Em, its good. About 7?, Yeah 7'
So there you have it, Ben scores Transformers a very respectable 7 out of 10 and Daddy Poppins is inclined to agree (from the little he's played it). I've literally been handed the controls by him to show him where to go next or help him past a 'really difficult boss' but from what I can it seems a really enjoyable combo based action game full of great nostalgia for 80's kids like myself. Another one worth downloading for a rainy day. Its probably geared at slightly older kids and I do expect it to get too difficult for a 6 and a 1/2 year old soon. At a guess I'd say 10-12 would probably be the perfect age group for this game.
Of course, I'm not going to miss my chance to include some transformers jokes so here you go.
Till next time.
